We provide below answers to our most frequently asked questions to help you make the most of your Skin Solutions Day Spa & Salon experience.

Getting a facial?

We recommend consulting with your esthetician before you begin your treatment, to discuss your options, new offerings, and what might best benefit you. We also offer a complimentary skin analysis using our state-of-the-art computerized eMage Pro System that will allow our estheticians to analyse your needs and recommend specific treatments to address them. Please let your esthetician know if you prefer more massage, if you want your pores thoroughly purged, or if you have skincare issues or concerns you would like addressed. Our goal is to help you achieve optimal results!

Keeping that after facial GLOW...

Your facial is the first, but not the only step toward seamless skincare. At Skin Solutions Day Spa & Salon we feel follow-up and a daily skincare regimen is the key to achieving great results. Please get acquainted with our products and peruse the personalized product pack that awaits you at checkout. These products are chosen specifically for your skin type by your esthetician.

Should I tell my esthetician that I'm on Retin-A or Accutane?

Yes. This is very important and can save you from post treatment disasters. Hydroxy acids, for example, can make your skin extra sensitive so steam, rubbing, waxing or other products and services your therapist uses or performs can cause irritation and leave you with an unpleasant experience. Please advise your therapist about any medical conditions or medications we should be aware of.

Can I put on make-up after a facial?

Feel free to add-on a make-up refresher after your facial, best if booked when making your appointment. However if you forget to book with your facial, simply ask your esthetician or our Receptionist upon check-in. We will make every effort to accommodate you.

What should I wear?

You are welcome to come dressed as you, but Skin Solutions provides robes and slippers if you are having multiple spa services or a package. Simply change and relax! If you don't feel comfortable in our robe you may leave your undergarments on during your treatment (you will be draped at all times).For body wraps you can bring a swimsuit or we can provide you with disposable undergarments to wear during your treatment. For pedicures, we recommend you wear a thong sandal or we can provide you with disposable Pedi-flip flops to wear home.

What happens if I show up late for my appointment?

We understand that unexpected things happen to sometimes cause you to be late. Hectic schedules, traffic jams, you name it- it happens. If you show up late for your appointment, your therapist will gladly accommodate your entire service, if he or she does not have another client promptly following your appointment. If they have a scheduled appointment directly after, they must perform a shorter version of your scheduled service - so the next client does not have to wait.

Can my treatments be customized to fit my needs?

Yes they certainly can! We offer many add-on services and treatment enhancements so you may customize your experience at Skin Solutions. Not sure what is best suited for you? Our therapists are always willing to give individual recommendations and suggestions. We want you to have an effective and memorable experience when visiting our Spa.

I forgot to book waxing. Can I get it done during my facial?

We will always try to accommodate add-on services. Body waxing is perfectly fine; however, we don’t recommend having a facial wax on the same day of your facial. Your skin may be too sensitive. Simply check with our Receptionist upon check-in or ask your esthetician/spa therapist. We will make every effort to accommodate you.

Do you offer services for men?

Yes. We know men like to get pampered too, so we haven’t forgotten about you! Our menu features services specifically designed and suited for men. The Gentleman’s Facial, Sport Manicure & Pedicure, Back Facial and Hot Stone Therapy Massage are all great choices for men. Visit our spa services page to view complete descriptions.

Do I have to chat with my massage therapist?

Absolutely not. If you feel like chatting, that is up to you. If not, feel free to tell your therapist you’d like to quietly relax and enjoy the massage.

Are spa packages served with lunch?

We provide complimentary herbal tea, chilled water and light snacks in our Waiting Lounge for all guests after check-in. Select Spa Packages include with your choice of a light lunch (wraps or salads) with your choice of soothing herbal tea, wine, champagne, chilled water, or a fruit beverage. Spa lunches can also be ordered in advance if your package does not already include one.

Does Skin Solutions cater to parties?

Yes, our professional staff would be delighted to host your bridal shower, wedding day preparation, corporate events, birthday parties, girls’ day out, etc. Please contact us for more information on how we can customize a memorable day for you and your guests.

I would like to purchase a gift certificate for a friend/family member.

You may visit our website to order gift certificates on-line through our secured site. A Skin Solutions representative will ensure that your friend/relative receives their elegantly packaged gift certificate. Please include the correct telephone contact on your order.

Should I tip? What’s normal?

Leaving gratuities is appropriate for any service related work. Customary gratuity ranges from 15%-20% of the price of the service provided. For your convenience, tips can be taken care of during check out, accepted on checks and major credit cards. Cash gratuity can be handed directly to your therapist or put into a gratuity envelope at the front desk. Gratuity can also be added to your gift certificate purchase, please let our front desk staff know at time of payment.

Can I use my cell phone?

We take pride in providing our clients with an escape from every day stress and tension. We kindly ask that you please keep your cell phones and pagers on OFF or VIBRATE during your appointment so others are not disturbed during their visit a Skin Solutions. Please refrain from speaking on your cell phone during your visit. Our goal is to provide clients with a relaxing, unforgettable spa experience.

Can my child / children be present during my spa visit?

For the comfort of other guest’s receiving services, children are not permitted in the spa unless they are receiving services. We have Princess Services available; please view our menu for pricing. Please arrange to have a babysitter during your spa visit so you can fully enjoy the peace and tranquility Skin Solutions has to offer. Please note we cannot accommodate your appointment if your child is with you.
